Network Engineer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in data center, hosting, and cloud networking. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and at least 1–2 years in web or cloud hosting environments. This role requires advanced troubleshooting abilities, strong customer communication, and the ability to work in a dynamic, SLA-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Networking Operations
Manage and maintain enterprise-grade network environments across data center, hosting, and cloud infrastructures.
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
Implement and support VPN technologies such as IPSec, SSL, GRE, site-to-site, and remote access VPNs.
Work with switching technologies, including STP, EtherChannel, and VXLAN.
Perform network segmentation, optimization, and security hardening.
Hosting & Data Center Networking
Administer DNS services (Bind, PowerDNS, Anycast).
Manage hosting protocols, including HTTP(S), SMTP, and FTP/SFTP in production environments.
Configure and maintain load balancers such as Nginx, HAProxy, or hardware-based LB (F5, Citrix).
Support multi-tenant environments with isolated client networking.
Cloud Networking
Design and manage VPCs, subnets, peering, NAT gateways, and VPN gateways.
Work with cloud networking tools across AWS, Azure, VMware NSX, or similar.
Support hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud infrastructures.
Network Security
Administer enterprise firewalls, including Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Support DDoS mitigation strategies and basic WAF implementation.
Configure IDS/IPS tools and participate in security monitoring and triage.
Apply Zero-Trust principles and segmentation strategies.
Automation & Monitoring
Create scripts and automation using Python, Bash, or Ansible.
Manage monitoring and event systems such as Zabbix, Nagios, Grafana, ELK, etc.
Build reporting dashboards and proactive alerting systems.
Troubleshooting & Support
Perform deep-dive diagnostics using packet captures, traceroute, Wireshark, etc.
Handle Level 3 escalations from NOC and customer operations.
Work within 24/7 operations, rotation, and shift-based schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years in networking, with exposure to hosting or cloud-based environments.
Certifications:
One or more of the following is required:CCNA R&S (EI), CCNP R&S (EI)
CCNA DC, CCNP DC
JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT/SP, JNCIP-ENT
Vendor Experience:
Hands-on experience with:Cisco Catalyst & Nexus
Juniper EX / QFX / MX series
Preferred experience with:Arista or Mellanox data center switches
Soft Skills
Strong English communication skills, especially for client-facing roles.
Ability to explain complex network issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong documentation skills for configurations, SOPs, and incident reporting.
Team player, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hosting ecosystem.
Ability to work across multiple time zones.
