Data Center Operations Technician

As a ServerHub Datacenter Operations Tech (NOC Tech I), you will be responsible for growing physical infrastructure for ServerHub, from our servers already implemented to new servers being deployed.  

We are looking to expand our Data Center Infrastructure Support Team, which is responsible for all physical servers in our growing infrastructure.

You will be responsible for maintaining and growing infrastructure on the ServerHub Platform. Everything from replacing faulty drives at our Dallas location, to being asked to fly overseas to help the team build out our next location in Europe. The sky is the limit and opportunity will be endless. 
 

This is a full-time position based at our Dallas, TX offices. 
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Racking, Stacking and Wiring Servers, Power Distribution Units and Switches
    (Installation/Decommissioning of hardware, switches etc) 
  • Troubleshooting & Restoring Failed Hardware
  • Shipping and receiving gear to/from remote locations and vendors
  • Respond to general help desk technical and product questions generated by our customers
  • Answer Basic Tickets, Emails, Phone Calls and Live Chats with our customers
  • Travel domestically and internationally to perform expansion duties
  • SLAs met and customer expectations managed appropriately
  • Learn and Adapt to the ServerHub systems, and adapt to rapid changes 
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills for:  Linux (CentOS), Apache, MySQL and PHP
  • Work collaboratively within a team setting via face-to-face and Internal Chat
  • Collaborate with management and team to improve the Customer Experience 
  • Communicate on current processes and assist in improvement suggestions 

Things you’ll need:

  • Strong background with technology and Linux systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate about technology and Customer Support
  • Basic Understanding of IP Address Subnetting and CIDR
  • Strong identity with our brand and team culture
  • Prior experience in similar environments
  • A High School or GED equivalent, if not available 3 years work experience 
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to Travel / Multitask and Lift Heavy Objects (50 lbs)
